Recipe from The Complete Magnolia Bakery Cookbook.
Magnolia Bakery--one of the best bakeries in New York City. So when I took a trip down to visit my older sister last weekend, I decided to bake her something from their cookbook. Heck, maybe she'd be able to compare my creation to the actual thing!
Only half of this Chocolate Chip Peanut Banana Loaf made its way down to the city, and a slice never made it to my sister's best friend as planned. Take that as: THIS BREAD IS DARN GOOD.
Ingredients:
1/3 cup (5-1/3 T.) unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
2 large eggs, room temperature
1-1/2 cups mashed ripe banana
1/3 cup milk
2 cups self-rising flour
1/2 cup finely chopped, unsalted peanuts
3/4 cup chocolate chips
Directions:
Bake at 350ยบ. Grease and flour 9x5x3" loaf pan.
Using a large bowl, cream butter and sugar on low speed, until fluffy, about 2-3 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time. Add banana and milk. Mix in flour and blend thoroughly.Stir in peanuts and chocolate chips. Pour batter into pan.
Bake 45-55 minutes. Let cool 20 minutes and remove from pan.

YUM YUM YUM!! I have some frozen bananas in the freezer just waiting to be used. Wonder if they're still good? (they've been in there quite a while). This looks absolutely delicious!
This sounds delicious...chocolate, bananas and peanut butter are major food groups at our house!
I have looked at some of your recipes – they look so good. I think I’ll try the Greek Lentil Salad – it does sound delicious. Thanks for coming to my blog.
I have two bunches of ripe bananas. I plan to make banana bread with walnuts tomorrow, perhaps one will get chocolate chips instead. thanks.
This sounds absolutely incredible! Thanks for the recipe--I've copied it for use in the future. :)
Ooh my daughter loves banana bread and cake, I think we must make this. Nice idea to user choc chips with bananas instead of walnuts.
Okay, I think I need to add this to my aging repertoire. It is becoming rather boring after all these years. Not making it in a finished state to the intended receiver is a definite "yes" to its taste.
Hmmm ... I have never thought of peanuts in a tea bread. Interesting! The combo of choc chips, peanuts and banana does sound good tho.
Magnolia's is my favorite NYC bakery too. Thanks for sharing this yummy sounding recipe!
Looks delicious!
That looks incredibly moist. Perfect for afternoon coffee or a dessert.
