Weekend Cooking: Easy and Decadent No-Knead Wheat Bread

After returning from Denmark, I've been craving freshly baked bread. I knew I'd be able to find a healthy and easy recipe on vegweb.com. Sure enough, after searching through the bread category, I discovered this recipe for Easy and Decadent No-Knead Wheat Bread.

This bread has a harder crust, but the inside is soft. The only thing I would change is the sugar. It calls for 1/3 cup of sugar, but I think I'll try 1/4 next time.

With only six ingredients and no kneading required, this is a great go-to recipe. And it's vegan!

Weekend Cooking, hosted at Beth Fish Reads, is open to anyone with a food-related post to share: Book (novel, nonfiction) reviews, cookbook reviews, movie reviews, recipes, random thoughts, gadgets, fabulous quotations, photographs. If your post is even vaguely foodie, feel free to grab the button, head over to Beth Fish Reads, and link up anytime over the weekend.

This sounds easy enough. I agree, it seems to be a lot of sugar, a bit less might be better. Not sure about the cinnamon either. I'll definitely give this a try.

I love the rich dark brown of your bread. I usually go light on sugar too and haven't noticed the difference. The recipe appeals to me with few ingredients and the no-knead promise. I'll have to give it a try.

I only eat wheat bread, and that looks yummy. I love that there's no kneading and only 6 ingredients!

No knead is a great way to go sometimes. I'm with you on hte less sugar. I made a whole wheat flaxseed last night with oil instead of butter... but I did use milk, so not vegan.

I love wheat bread, but when I try this, I have to leave out the cinnamon; hubby doesn't care for the spice at all :(

Your bread looks delicious! Not sure if I would add the sugar and spices. Bf loves plain bread :/

I make sourdough bread weekly, but have never tried a no-knead recipe. This sounds very good! Thanks.

YOur bread looks heavenly. I can imagine the butter melting and dripping down the edge....
